LoRaWAN CO₂ Sensors Compared: MacSync LCO2 vs Milesight EM500-CO2 vs SenseCAP S2103

Three LoRaWAN CO₂ sensors with temperature and humidity on board. They differ in CO₂ range, stated accuracy, whether a mains-powered version exists, and how they are configured and supported.

Every value is as each manufacturer publishes it, checked on 7 October 2026. Where a page does not state a figure, the cell says so.

Where each fits

What the table means for your site

Where the MacSync LCO2 fits

Buildings and plants that want the same sensor in battery and DC-powered forms, a range matched to the room (2,000 ppm for offices, 5,000 ppm for plant rooms and labs), an operating range to +80 °C, and Indian manufacture with WPC compliance and local support. Its stated CO₂ accuracy is wider than the other two, so if a tighter published figure matters for a compliance use, read the datasheets closely.

Where the Milesight EM500-CO2 fits

Outdoor and harsh-environment CO₂ monitoring with barometric pressure on board and a tighter stated accuracy, on a replaceable 19 Ah cell. It is battery-only.

Where the SenseCAP S2103 fits

The widest CO₂ range of the three, to 10,000 ppm, with the tightest stated temperature and humidity accuracy, in an IP66 housing. It is battery-only and is configured from a phone app over Bluetooth.

Questions

Choosing between them

The Milesight EM500-CO2 and SenseCAP S2103 both state ±(30 ppm + 3% of reading); the MacSync LCO2 states ±(50 ppm + 5% of reading) with ±10 ppm repeatability and a published yearly drift figure. For ventilation control, all three resolve the difference between a fresh room and a stale one; for a compliance record, choose on the figure your standard requires.

Offices, classrooms and meeting rooms rarely exceed 2,000 ppm, so the X1 is the usual choice. Labs, plant rooms, warehouses with forklifts and ripening chambers can run higher, which is what the 5,000 ppm X2 is for.

The MacSync LCO2 has 9–36 V DC variants for continuous CO₂ monitoring where power exists. The EM500-CO2 and S2103 are battery-only on the pages checked.
