# LoRa Device-to-Device Communication Test Report – MacTalk

## Scope

This report defines the scope of **real-world field testing and performance validation** of **MacTalk**, Macnman’s proprietary **LoRa-based device-to-device (D2D) communication framework**, designed to enable **direct, secure communication between LoRa devices without gateway dependency during active data exchange**.

The primary objective of this testing is to **evaluate direct LoRa device-to-device communication performance**, including range, reliability, latency, and security behavior, under practical deployment conditions. The tests focus on validating **peer-to-peer communication stability** while enforcing an **additional proprietary security layer** beyond standard LoRaWAN mechanisms.

The scope of this report includes:

- Validation of **direct LoRa device-to-device (D2D) communication** without reliance on a LoRaWAN gateway
- Measurement of **communication range, RSSI, and SNR** between peer devices
- Evaluation of **packet delivery reliability and latency** in D2D mode
- Verification of **MacTalk proprietary security layer**, including:
  - Secure device pairing and authentication
  - Encrypted payload exchange
  - Rejection of unauthorized or unknown devices
- Analysis of communication performance under **indoor, urban, and open outdoor environments**
- Assessment of operation under **Indian environmental conditions**, including temperature and humidity variations
- Comparison of **MacTalk D2D communication behavior versus traditional gateway-based LoRaWAN communication** (where applicable)

The testing was performed using **Macnman LoRa devices running MacTalk firmware**, ensuring the **same hardware platform** was used consistently across all test scenarios to provide comparable and repeatable results.

This report is intended to support:

- System integrators designing **localized, low-latency LoRa communication**
- Enterprises requiring **secure device-to-device communication** without continuous network dependency
- Industrial and infrastructure deployments needing **autonomous operation and fallback communication**
- Customers evaluating **MacTalk as an alternative or complement to gateway-based LoRaWAN networks**

The findings from this report provide practical guidance on **deploying, securing, and scaling LoRa device-to-device communication** using MacTalk in real-world environments.
